Today on the blog, I have a review of the paranormal YA Twisted Fates by SD Porter.
#NewRelease Twisted Fates

Twisted Fates is a short, fast-paced YA novel with supernatural elements. It follows two siblings, Ben and Beth, as they start at a new school. The twist, so to speak, is that Beth is dead, and Ben is pretty much the only person who knows she's still hanging around in ghostly form.
Not everything is hunky-dory at the new school. Ben befriends the school outcast, and Beth discovers she isn't the only ghost in the school. Discovering the truth behind the deaths of the girls' volleyball team that haunts the hallways is the mystery at the center of the story.Â
Chapters alternate between the siblings, keeping the pace sprightly and offering both living and dead perspectives on all the happenings. I feel this technique worked quite well. As stated earlier, the story is relatively short, more of a novella in length than a novel. Despite that, I didn't feel the tale was shortchanged in the least. It is a quick, crisp yarn.
Depending on maturity and reading ability, readers as young as 11 or so could find this story appealing, especially if they have an interest in ghosts. In my opinion, that puts the ideal reader between 11-ish and 15-ish with an interest in ghosts. Bottom line, readers interested in paranormal stories that aren't overly intense or gory will find much to enjoy in Twisted Fates.
