Interview with Dalia

Howdy,

Today I'd like to introduce you to Dalia, Allison Lee's BFF and a major character in my forthcoming YA fantasy debut, Dragons Walk Among Us. You can pre-order it here, available everywhere on July 19, 2021.

Where were you born?

I was born in Spokane. Don't feel bad for not having heard of it. Lots of people outside of Washington haven't. Anyway, my parents moved to Seattle for work while I was a toddler, and I haven't been back since.

What is your favorite color?

I'll give you one guess. What? Can't guess? Okay, a hint, but only one. Look at my hair.

What is your dream job?

My dream is to be a lifelong climate activist. We need to stop destroying the planet or face extinction. I want to help educate people about that. You know, fight back against disinformation. Climate change is real.

What is your favorite food?

I love the bagels at this coffee shop I hang out at with my bestie Allison. Toasted with a bit of cream cheese, those bagels are ambrosial.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?

Well, my favorite activity is going dancing with Allison. We get so lost in the beat we can dance the night away. We have, too, literally. We've missed curfew a few times. Our curfew? It's eleven p.m. How lame is that? We don't do anything bad––just dance.

There is this boy, Devin. He's a climate activist. I can see myself spending some Saturday nights with him if he asks me out. I think he'll ask me out. Probably. Maybe.
