Interview with Allison Lee
Today I'd like to introduce you to Allison Lee, the protagonist in my forthcoming YA fantasy debut, Dragons Walk Among Us. You can pre-order it here, available everywhere on July 19, 2021.
Where were you born?
I was born in the gloomiest major city in the country––Seattle, Washington. I still live there. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever leave. That’s Washington the state, not D.C. Most days, if it's not raining, it's at least overcast all day. No sun. Welcome to the land of year-round seasonal affective disorder.
What is your favorite color?
Forest green like my hair. Do you like it? Totally lit, right?
What is your dream job?
Photojournalist, of course! I take my camera with me everywhere. I have like forever. Ideally, I'll be a staff photographer for a major newspaper or a news service like the AP or Reuters. That'd be wicked.
What is your favorite food?
Can I tell you about my favorite beverage? I could live off of coffee, black coffee. No cream. No sugar. Black.
How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
When I'm not stuck at home studying, you mean? My dad is a college professor at Tahoma University, so he is a stickler for academics. Seems like practically every Saturday, I'm up studying with my squad for the next test. But my ideal is dancing the night away to the electronic beat of Dark Matter Electrica––my favorite group, BTW––with my BFF Dalia.
