How many reasons do you need to read a spooky fun YA horror book? Well, I have nine reasons for you to read Phantom Algebra!

A hand writes in a notebook in a green-tinted library. The text reads "Phantom Algebra" and "The Haunting of Pinedale High." Eerie atmosphere.

  1. A kick ass hero. Zuri doesn't shrink from a fight and despises bullies. What will she do when facing foes she can't punch?

A clenched fist in black and white, centered in frame against a dark background, conveying strength and determination.
  2. A kick ass hero needs a villainous antagonist or two, am I right? Zuri faces gnarly monsters, living and dead.

Blurred person in a green-lit room with visible beams and a ceiling grid. The atmosphere is mysterious and abstract.

  3. Do you like to play in the woods? Well, these trees want to play with you forevermore.

Foggy forest at night, silhouettes of tall trees with a bright white light in the background. Eerie and mysterious atmosphere.
  4. Welcome to Pinedale High. That tingling on the back of your neck, like something ethereal brushed up against you…don't worry. That's only a ghost. You can't always see them, but they can always see you.

Two figures in flowing cloaks, one smooth blue, the other textured white, stand against a dark blue background, conveying a serene mood.

  5. You're a YA aficionado, or you're looking for a book for the YA fan in your life.

Smiling child reading a book between stacks of colorful books in a library. Bookshelves blur in the background, creating a warm atmosphere.
  6. It's a cracking good read, and you don't have to take my word for it.

Book cover of "Phantom Algebra" by Dan Rice features a glowing library scene. Includes "Readers' Favorite" five-star badge and math symbols.
  7. It's the perfect tale to put you in the mood for the spookiest time of year, Halloween.

Carved jack-o'-lantern with smoke billowing from its mouth, set on a weathered wooden surface. Autumn, eerie mood in a forest setting.
  8. Wait a minute? What do you mean a ghost does math?

Mathematical formulas are etched on a frosted glass panel, illuminated by soft light from a window, creating a focused and academic mood.
  9. It's part of The Haunting of Pinedale High, a series of ghost stories by fabulous YA authors brought to you by The Wild Rose Press.

Three book covers: "Ghost Therapy" in a dim hallway with lockers, "Ravens & Spirits" with an orange sky, and a mystery cover with trees.
