Right now, it feels like I have tons of iron in the writing fire. My new YA WIP proceeds at breakneck speed, which is totally awesome. That, however, is not the only thing going on in my writing world.
The biggest news is I just received a request for a full manuscript. OMG!!! I quickly threw together all 45 chapters of my fantasy novel into a single file and shipped it. My fingers and toes are crossed. On top of that, I just received my edits back for my short story Second Date from the copy editor, so I need to look it over.
Since I’m embarking on writing a YA novel, I’ve been plowing through quite a bit of YA fantasy. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Seraphina and the Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman. These books follow a half-dragon musician on her adventures through a Victorian fantasy world. I’ve also read Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve. Wow. Loved it. Currently, I’m listening to Predator’s Gold on Libby. It’s just as good as the first book in the series.
Anyway, I wish you luck in your writing adventures.
