The Allison Lee Chronicles Vol. 4

Since Phantom Algebra is with my publisher, my full attention is on Allison's fourth and final adventure. Back in September 2024, I estimated the word count at approximately 173,000. The actual number was about 158,000, and I needed to get the story under 100,000 words. What a monumental editing job! At times, it seemed overwhelming, downright impossible.

Well, it is a great relief to say I'm nearly there.

Allison's fourth and final adventure currently clocks in at just a hair under 104,000 words. That's about 54,000 words cut! Woohoo! The end is finally in sight! The light at the end of the tunnel is no longer a mirage!

What's Next

Most of the editorial butchery is complete on volume 4. Now it's time to switch from cleaver to scalpel. The massive word deletions have left continuity errors and dangling subplots in their wake. Cleaning up those and moving on to the fine edit are up next.
