New Year, New Digs, New Hikes.

The best thing about the latest domicile's location is easy access to numerous hiking trails, many of which are new to me. I've been an avid day hiker and amateur photographer for many years. My older boy was a hiking machine when he was younger, eating up trails with ease and earning compliments from weary adults. Nowadays, he's (usually) too cool to go hiking and too wrapped up in soccer.

The younger lad is starting to show interest in hiking. He's not quite as enthusiastic about the actual walking as his brother, but he appreciates nature's beauty. Fortunately, there are numerous short and pretty hikes less than an hour from the new domicile.

Also pleasing, the local bird population has located my feeders. They don't come in droves like at the previous house, but the activity can become quite lively on cold winter mornings.
