Meet Pallas, a wayward skaag warrior, befriended by Allison Lee and a prominent character in the fourth and final volume of The Allison Lee Chronicles, The Bane Dragons.
Character Interview: Pallas
Where were you born?
I was born in a hatching facility deep underground on Draconis, the capital world of Tarratragonia. My earliest memories are of the dragon assigned to imprint on me and my creche mates. I do not know her name, but she was good to us. She only killed one of the us after the baby discharged electricity at her. She clutched him in her talons and squeezed until his insides were on the outside. We learned quickly always to obey dragons and never to attack one.
After six months in her care, I had grown large enough and developed the intellectual maturity to begin training as a skaag warrior. It was then that I discovered how kind and patient a caretaker the dragon had been. Members of my training cohort spoke often of creche mates killed by dragons for an offense as minor as accidentally defecating on the way to the latrine (you must remember we were newborns) or tortured to death as a sadistic amusement.
What is your favorite color?
That is not something I have ever contemplated.
What is your dream job?
The only job I have ever had is being a warrior in service to Tarratragonia. I have never considered a different job, as that was never an option. Skaags are engineered to fight for Tarratragonia. It is all we know. Some of us desire to move up the ranks into positions of authority. I have never possessed such a predilection. I did attempt to enter the elite infiltration forces, but I washed out of training because I could not master shape-shifting into the required alien body shapes.
All that is to say, I was content to be a skaag warrior serving the dragons until one day I was not.
What is your favorite food?
Newborn ulthian. There is no delicacy more delicious in the multiverse. The first time I was allowed to eat the savory meat was after I completed my first year of warrior training. To this day, it is the best and most memorable meal I have ever partaken.
How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
By that, you mean how I spend my free time? As a skaag warrior, I did not have free time, unless you count mealtimes and sleeping. A warrior is always on duty. While in the creche, I often sparred with my classmates during our free time. It was encouraged by our dragon caretaker and was even fun, but now I understand that that play was in preparation for my warrior training. Now, with what little free time I have, I often consider what I might like to do in my spare time.
About the Book

Monstrous forces from across the multiverse have set their eyes upon Earth to create a beachhead in the universe humanity calls home. The problem with that? Humans will be enslaved…and used as food stock for skaags, ravenous shapeshifting super soldiers.
Allison, a teenage alien human hybrid, is humanity’s only hope. She must travel the slipstream, the super highway through the multiverse, to bring the conflict to the enemy’s turf. With a crack squad of miscreants as allies, she does just that, but the plan goes awry.
They end up as the prisoners of angry terrestrial octopi. Their attempts at negotiation only see them handed over to General Bane, the skaag supreme military commander feared throughout the multiverse. Allison discovers that to save everyone she loves, she must unravel the magic binding General Bane and his kind to their overlords. To accomplish that, she must face her greatest fear, herself.
