Pleased as can be about this! I always believed Zuri's story about being the new girl at a haunted high school was my best work when it came out. Here's proof I wasn't completely delusional!

It's time for that obligatory post to pat myself on the back for penning a novel that did extremely well in Readers' Favorite. When I wrote the book, I reckoned it was my best work to date, and my writing has only improved since. My humble tale wasn't the only entry from "The Haunting of Pinedale High" to do well in the competition. My fellow Pinedale alum Kimberly Baer earned a medal in the paranormal category.
I have to throw out there that this isn't the only recognition Phantom Algebra has earned. My little yarn about an aspiring MMA fighter turned ghost buster was also chosen as one of the 10 best YA horrors of 2025 by Ginger Nuts of Horror alongside some vastly better-known authors published by big houses. How cool is that? Zuri is launching knockout high kicks.
