Christmas came early this year with the addition of Coco to the family in November, just after Thanksgiving. Anders has yearned for a dog practically since the day he was hatched. After a decade of pleading for a dog, his wish has come true!
Among her many duties, Coco is his number one fan at his soccer games—at least, when she can stay awake that is!
Her primary job is to provide Anders with unjudgmental companionship and love. That is a duty she excels at. He often proclaims that she is the love of his life and his best friend forever. She's also teaching him responsibility, as he takes on many of the tasks to care for her.
Even the older boy is smitten with Coco. Her calm and gentle presence has already lowered the temperature of the brotherly rivalry by a degree or two. It's hard for the boys to be constantly fighting when there's a dog to play with. So, whether she realizes it or not, Coco is a working dog and already earning her keep. Even with her puppy dog antics, which I find annoying at times, she has won my heart and the darling wife's. We often find ourselves stating that Coco is truly a good dog.
