As of yesterday, December 1, 2018, I officially started what I am dubbing The Arduous Edit. Fingers crossed it’s not as arduous as the name implies!
I have a laundry list of issues to address:
Timelines – I have several leaves the sort out
The protagonist – he must be more sympathetic and his appearance and his family’s need to be sorted out
In the later scenes, the protagonist needs to be more empathetic toward a character who has suffered a loss
The motivation of the antagonistic Army needs clearing up
Of course, there are scads of minor issues and bucket loads of typos waiting to be fixed, but the list captures the significant problems. Wish me luck.
